admittedly these statistics don't measure the same thing official watchtower statistics do (i.e.
Thanks for the link sbf. Interesting reading. I do agree with your assessment that it is quite interesting that the census figures are showing a much different trend. I don't know what the US census questions will be next year, but if they ask to identify with a religion I certainly wouldn't mark down JW. And, as far as the local congo thinks, I'm an active supporting member who turns in a fs slip. I only go so as not to lose family relationships, yet I give no money and don't believe much of what they teach.
I wonder if this reduction on such a confidential form is really an indication that there are way more folks in my situation than the WTS believes? I do agree with the statement that there are way fewer walk away believers than before, likely because of the information available debunking the believe that the WTS is God's chosen organization. I'm sure that has a big part in the census results since before people who were df'ed would still identify as JW even though the WTS considered them birdfood.

om & wife!.
OM - fantastic news! Great job
edited to add: (go ahead and clink the glass!!)
i haven't been contributing here in some time, probably because so much time went into preparations for our trip to kenya.
i thought some of you might want to read the blog i created to document the trip... you'll see comments and photos of rachel's reunion with her family, our incredible safari at the masai mara reserve, and more.

Terrific blog. Just spent way more time reading it than I intended to! What an experience!
here is another issue of our boredom ministry.
beware of pagan winter customs: are winter tires and light for christians?.
being as angels in the heavens: what did jesus mean when he said that resurrected ones would not marry?.
Very funny!
i know i have threatened to do this before, like when i first left.
but i am thinking of going to college.
this time, i feel determined.
Hey Jeff. I was also 35 when I started working on my degree and am now 2 classes away. It's taken a while because of family committments but I can tell you that it's made a world of difference. I always resented not going to college and felt inferior to others that had degrees. Funny thing was that I started when I was still an elder but before the crackdown on "higher eduction".
I really wanted the piece of paper to sort of validate my abilities which is why I went the online route. If I get an MBA, I'll probably do that one in person since I did miss a huge portion of the college experience.
You can do it!!
article by lds writer (mormon) .
the world's best non-lds missionary programs .
best missionary literature printing and distribution program: jehovah's witnesses .
Easy Susanhere - I think everyone here realizes that the LDS is a mind control cult just like the WTS. Given that, I agree with your assessment that this is probably fake. No cult wants to give credit to another cult for being better at recruitment!
One Jehovah's Witness friend of mine mentioned not long ago that he had never completed college, but that he felt that he had learned many college-level items by reading Awake! over the course of his life.
LOLOLOLOLOL - Dead giveaway that the writer was a JW. Seriously, who the hell would say that to a coworker?? "yes Bob, instead of spending 4 years at Harvard partying and fornicating, I received my higher education via the Awake magazine". Come on man!
unpublished documents, evidently written by isaac newton, that indicate he believed the world could end in 2060 ad.. (newton also had many other possible dates e.g 2034) [11].
13:43) how did the true knowledge become.
actually, until 1927 or so the wts taught that 1799 was the beginning of the "time of the end" not the 1914 the.
Terrific research. Thanks for all your hard work!!
was at the kingdumb hell yesterday after a gap.. paragraph 11 planted the seed in the sheeples' heads for this.. remember last weeks study, where martha was quoted as saying: "i know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.
" (jo 11: 24) the term "last day" was explained as applying to the millennium, in the same way as "judgment day" for those receiving an earthly resurrection.. now for paragraph 11 - i noticed some bemused faces, as usually john 6 is avoided in articles discussing earthly resurrection:.
" "the bread that i shall give is my flesh," he said.
Exactly, no real change here.
hi guys...oompa here.
was i in rehab for alcohol addiction or jwd addiction!?!?
!......no computers or cellphones allowed so i have been awol awhile..... ya, i finally made my self sick enough on booze to realize i was really sick and tired of being sick and tired....so checked myself into rehab without any planning at all and while wife was out of town on a family retreat...it was a a very desperate moment in my life, and i was extremely physically and emotionally sick....i was so desperate i took zero time to reseach where to go, but called an old school friend who said rehab had saved his life and he made the calls and actually took me and helped me check in to the place he went to 5 years ago.
oompa - so glad that are ok and that you're getting help. Much strength to your fight to stay on the sobriety path!
